The Latin Grammy Awards are presented by the Latin Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences. The awards recognize outstanding artists for their artistic and technical excellence in the field of music.
The international organization was founded as a reference in the Latin American region. The awards recognize the different nominees through different categories. Among them are Alternative, Production, Classical and Jazz.This 2021, the Latin Grammy Awards saw a Guatemalan make it to the finals and win it. Aroddy was nominated in the category of Best Christian Album for his work Ya me vi.
A composer from the state of Chiquimula, he was born in 1972. He has produced more than 10 Christian music albums. Among them are: Olor Fragante and Pistas de Colección Dorada.
The category in which Aroddy competed is considered one of the most significant within the Latin American tradition.
"I have the day of the nomination so vividly in my mind. We were having breakfast with my children and my wife. You can imagine that joy, we were shouting with so much excitement that I think the neighbors were scared and afterwards we thanked God for this nice opportunity."Few Guatemalans have managed to position themselves in the Latin American music market, the most recognized being Ricardo Arjona and Gaby Moreno. Besides being a highly competitive market, Latin America is a region where people are characterized by their charisma and talent.
Aroddy, one of the artists who have positioned themselves in the national market this year, managed to take Christian music to new places. Other outstanding Christian musicians include Miel San Marcos, Celeste Nova and Julio Melgar.
