• ABBA REVOLUTIONISES THE INDUSTRY WITH VIRTUAL CONCERTS

On Friday 27 May, ABBA kicked off a series of holographic concerts in London at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, within which the ABBA Arena was designed and built, to present performances of their hits and their latest album released in November last year, ABBA Voyage. All members of the band were present at the season opening.

This has been a million dollar project and it was Industrial Light & Music, George Lucas' production company, who included holograms of Anni-Frid, Björn, Benny and Agnetha, as ABBAtars (fun promotional word game for avatars), with their faces from 1979 and their original voices, creating digital adaptations of their members.

In this show, the audience will be able to sing their greatest hits such as Chiquitita, Waterloo, Dancing Queen, SOS, Eagle, as well as songs from their latest album Voyage.

"We put our hearts and souls into these avatars and they will take over", "It is one of the most audacious projects ever made in the world of music", "I have no idea how the audience will receive it, but I think they will feel the emotional power of the avatars, that they will see them as real people", Björn Ulvaeus, one of the members of the Scandinavian quartet, told AFP before the premiere.

The show is scheduled to run continuously until the middle of 2023.

Congratulations to the world's most famous Swedish quartet, who are back to the delight of their audiences.
